Governance after the pandemic

Date: Wednesday, 24 March 2021

Place: Zoom Conference Call

This extraordinary event is to explore the impact that the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic is having and will have on governance over the next 10 years.

We want to bring together leading figures in public sector organisations, policymakers, researchers
and advocates to examine the impact of the pandemic on public sector governance. Specifically, we
will be examining areas surrounding:

The difficulties of ethical decision making in a crisis

Tensions between elected representatives and governance, in the form of unelected officials or institutions

New and future challenges to public sector governance resulting from the pandemic

The event will be Chaired by Stefan Stern, a journalist who has written numerous books on
leadership, management and governance and worked for the BBC, Management Today and the
Financial Times. He is also a Visiting Professor in management practice at City University Business
School and a former Director of the High Pay Centre.
